Ms. Maha Hilmy has various experience across different school systems (British and American), as well as working as a class teacher, subject teacher, associate principal, principal and now as MIS Principal. Ms. Hilmy’s experience has given her the chance to interact with a diverse student and teacher population, thus giving her an invaluable insight into all aspects of school life.
As a firm believer that education is the movement from darkness to light, preferring to spend as much time as possible in the classroom where she finds herself, Ms. Hilmy’s aim is to work with teachers and students to deliver high-quality education and ensure that MIS students are ready for tomorrow’s world.
Ms. Hilmy has worked with teachers and students in Egypt since 2000, after finishing her BA (Hons) at Manchester University, England, and later receiving a Diploma from the University of California, Santa Cruz, teaching English as a Second Language. She is also certified as an Accredited Marker in Literacy for Cambridge University. This is in addition to her diploma for Professional Development in Leadership from the American University in Cairo with distinction and a qualified teacher, earning her PGCE from Sunderland University, UK.
On a personal thought, Ms. Hilmy grew up in England in a small village in the North West, Timperley in Cheshire, studied at Timperley School and Grammar Secondary School in Manchester, then onto University and moved to Cairo.
